Classify and repair the Fleet HA fixture initial Lease timeout without weakening proof

Description

An exact clean detached pre-publication composed gate at ef9aa7e5eed726632fee6dc41327570d9591f1e6 failed in the race tier: TestFleetHAGracefulRestartKeepsIDsAndExplicitTeardown/teardown child failed its initial named Lease GET at the existing 100ms deadline, before any Fleet registration/unregistration. The same source in the earlier lane gate passed; plain tests passed in the red composed run. Cause is unknown, not established as timing flake or runtime defect. This blocks publication of the admitted chart portability, terminal accounting and SM-fixture candidates. No failed candidate was published. Existing completed planned-release shutdown work concerns a different failure.

Acceptance Criteria

Definition of Done

Implementation Plan

Read exact red/green logs and unchanged fixture source; one bounded focused race diagnostic. Root decides source-proven small test-only prerequisite scope versus owner/evidence park. Preserve all original timing and proof contracts, then review and exact composed gate only on a changed candidate if repair is warranted.

Implementation Notes

loop16: implementation attempts0, one bounded read-only race diagnostic3repetitions passed2.674s; exact red/green fixture and production dependency bytes unchanged. Original initial named Lease GET100ms timeout cause remains unknown; no source-proven test-only repair, original request/scheduling evidence absent. This is not the completed planned-release HTTP shutdown defect and isolated green does not clear the composed failure. No probe, timeout, assertion, fixture, runtime or test changed; no unchanged full-gate rerun. Park dependency: resume with actual request/scheduling evidence establishing a bounded fixture repair or separate owner-authorized diagnostic scope. Later distinct candidates require their own full exact gates and CI; prior red remains disclosed.

loop52 l128: classified on gaterun gate-1 under 256 CPU hogs: base 0810d95 4/1600 lookup timeouts (exact original signature); cause is a >=100ms scheduling stall in the child (83% in cold connection setup). Warm-connection variant 1/1600, rejected. No test-only fix keeps a single 100ms attempt with no retry. Stays Parked pending owner ruling Q05. Port race: SKT-0161.

Owner ruling 2026-10-22 (loop52 Q05): isolated race invocation with bounds unchanged; tracked in SKT-0162.

Loop54 authorized bounded remote measurement at source8f5a75e (runtime source unchanged from a0554b6), run20261023T194726Z-synthkit-f2a5755f. One quiet-host race job ran HA then Fleet sequentially: 10 top-level HA iterations/40 scenario subtests and 10 Fleet iterations/20 restart-teardown subtests all passed, zero skipped. The same 40 HA cases cover helper readiness, not an extra independent sample. Bounds/source/assertions/isolation unchanged. No reproduction, repair, cleared full-gate failure, loaded A/B or measured isolation benefit established; retain Parked pending naturally failing same-context request/startup/scheduler evidence.

Loop54 closeout: remains Parked after measured Fleet scenarios passed without attributable initial-Lease failure. Resume only on fresh reproducible evidence; lease/caller bounds and isolation unchanged.

No new timing measurement ran: the documented runner exposes free slots but no guaranteed idle or preemptible gate-host route. Existing quiet results do not clear the park; real initial-Lease attribution remains required. No timeout or test was weakened.

Closeout defect park retained: no new initial-Lease measurement ran because the required nonblocking idle/preemptible route was unavailable. Resume on compliant measurement or fresh attributed reproduction; preserve lease/caller bounds and existing proof.

Fresh bounded remote race measurement ran ten iterations of the unchanged Fleet restart/teardown test: twenty scenario passes, zero failures/skips/race warnings. No initial-request latency attribution, reproduction, repair or isolation-benefit claim; retain Parked and the original request/lifecycle bounds.

loop57 closeout: parked/open, see codex/closeout-2026-10-24-loop57.md.

Owner closeout: No new initial-Lease attribution; unchanged bounds and diagnostic park retained.
