Description
From the 2026-09-25 fleet test-signal audit (sampled read-only). Delete or consolidate tautological tests (restating the implementation) and change-detector tests (pinning incidental text, markup, counts or internals). Keep parsing, state-machine, retry, security/PII, wire-contract and incident regression tests. Re-verify each candidate before deleting it; the list below comes from a sample and is not exhaustive. Candidates: the 13 internal/collectors/**/transport_test.go getters that assert a hardcoded constant (e.g. intune/appinstallreport/transport_test.go:11), consolidate into one table test or delete; internal/auth/auth_test.go TestGraphDefaultScope (constant against its own literal); internal/admin/render_test.go:36 TestRender_TabbedShellAndLayout (exact data-tab/id/JS-name substrings).
Acceptance Criteria
- #1 Each listed candidate is deleted, consolidated or kept with a one-line reason in the notes
- #2 Other tests in the same pattern found during the work are handled the same way
- #3 The repo’s check recipe passes
Definition of Done
- #1 just check is green — fmt-check, lint, tidy-check, tools-check, forks-check, test, audit, gen-check, helm-check, build. Evidence, not assertion: paste or cite the run.
- #2 just gen run and its output committed if the change touches a registry-driven or generated surface (collectors, env vars, signal catalog, dashboards, alert rules, chart README, beta drift spec).
- #3 Committed green to main and pushed, with the resulting SHA recorded in this task.
